In versions 42 and higher of the Chrome web browser, Google has disabled automatic support for plugins that impact a few of our platforms; those platforms are BlueJeans (affects live meetings) and GlobalMeet (affects screenshare and calling your computer).
Solution Specific to Blue Jeans:
Once the new version is installed, Chrome users may be prompted to install an updated version of the Blue Jeans plugin and give permission to launch meetings in an alternate browser. Once you have completed this one-time process (which can take a minute or two), the alternate browser window will automatically launch for subsequent meetings joined from Google Chrome.
There is a Blue Jeans and Chrome FAQ in in the Blue Jeans Online Community. This will share the latest information and link to additional options available to Chrome users.
When a Chrome user clicks the Join Meeting connection option, the meeting will launch in the operating system’s preinstalled browser:
Solution Specific to GlobalMeet:
We recommend that you use Internet Explorer for your meetings until further notice. There are always updates being done, but we do not have a timeline on this specific issue.
You can find more detailed information in the GlobalMeet Online Community.
